Zac Rich is the Senior Program Manager of SSYI & Re-Entry at Commonwealth Corporation in Boston. He began his Boston-area career as a youth worker at Roca Chelsea in neighborhoods in and around Chelsea, East Boston and Roxbury. As a youth worker, he provided intensive outreach and case management to court-involved, proven risk young adults - both in the community and behind the wall in HOC, DOC, and DYS facilities.
In 2014, he transitioned into the role of Safe and Successful Youth Initiative (SSYI) Program Manager at Commonwealth Corporation in partnership with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services to focus on the statewide strategy around youth violence prevention, support for returning citizens, and recidivism reduction. In his current role, he oversees technical assistance and program management for the 13 SSYI funded cities across the Commonwealth on behalf of EOHHS. Additionally, he manages the Re-Entry Workforce Development Demonstration program on behalf of Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, supporting community based organizations engaging returning citizens with employment training and job placement opportunities. Prior to moving to Boston, he worked as an engagement coordinator at the San Francisco Beacon Initiative’s North Beach/Chinatown site, Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center in San Francisco, CA.
