District Attorney Youth Justice Voter Guides

District Attorneys play a major role in ensuring the fairness and effectiveness of the justice system and are key players in ensuring the success or failure of reforms to the system.  Yet, according to the ACLU of Massachusetts, four out of ten voters do not know that DA's are elected, and more than half do not realize the tremendous role DAs have in the justice system.

Thousands of Massachusetts' children come in contact with the juvenile justice system each year and  DA's decide who gets prosecuted, who gets diverted, and the conditions and sentences imposed on youth.  CfJJ partnered with seven organizations committed to improving outcomes for children in creating a non-partisan voter guide focused exclusively on candidates’ positions on youth justice issues.
