Thomas E Coury Youth Justice Award

The COMPASS Program of Bridge for Resilient Youth in Transition (BRYT) and Framingham High School

The COMPASS program, through a partnership between BRYT and FHS, is a unique program designed to meet the specific, complex needs of students involved with DCF and DYS, providing focused, caring, and intensive support to help stabilize and meet their needs. COMPASS provides comprehensive medium-to long-term trauma-informed supports to FHS students who are involved with child protective services and/or juvenile justice. This includes intensive care coordination, support for student transitions between living settings and schools, and close collaboration with school staff and the wider community of caregivers and support providers.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 30th Annual Leadership Celebration as we honored our founders, reflected on 30 years of youth justice advocacy, and discussed the path forward for empowering youth and transforming justice.

“I just think it’s important for us to know that how we treat children and how we treat our community matters. I think the most telling thing about any community is how they treat their children, and the most telling thing about our court system is how we treat our children, and if we don’t protect them from us, then we’re in trouble.”
— Hon. Leslie E. Harris.
