Youth Justice Voter Guides

District Attorneys, the Governor’s Council, and Sheriffs all play a major role in ensuring the fairness and effectiveness of the justice system. Each is a key player in ensuring the success or failure of reforms to the system.  Yet, according to the ACLU of Massachusetts, four out of ten voters do not know that DA's are elected, and more than half do not realize the tremendous role DAs have in the justice system; less than one in five know who is their local elected Sheriff; and even fewer know about the role of the Governor’s Council. Yet, each of these positions deeply shape how our systems treat young people.
