Massachusetts’ Gateway Cities are urban areas that lack equitable resources and have significantly less funding to spend per pupil than other Massachusetts cities. These analyses of school discipline rates in some of the Commonwealth’s Gateway Cities (as well as the city of Boston) looks at how this reality impacts students of color, poor students and students with disabilities.
